Equity Starts Early with Career Mirrors

A child in a lab coat works with medical equipment, analyzing brain scans displayed on computer monitors in a medical office setting.

Opportunity in the world of work has to start early. Mid-life crisis is too late. college is too late. high school is even too late. This new product will reach kids in the third grade and nurture many different talents and career options. All kids – all income levels, disabilities, genders and cultures will know they have an important value and potential in the world.

The Product… CAREER MIRRORS

Career Mirrors is a life-like adventure video game for elementary schools that makes it fun to gain a realistic and confident future vision of oneself. Students see themselves alongside their designated mentors as game characters achieving tasks on a journey toward success.

Kids look up to role models. Some kids grow up playing lawyer at their mom’s office and some kids think Cardi B is what the path to success looks like. Both kids might be wrong and not know it until the 10th grade when the pressure to “do something about your future” is too intense to handle; and for many, the U.S. school system had already deemed them not worth investing in by the third grade. With schools failing to adequately prepare young people for career success, this is just the solution needed.
