Prof. Elissa H. Buxbaum
Professor Buxbaum has designed strategic plans and training for organizations ranging from small companies of 5 staff members to institutions of 13,000 employees.
Starting her DEI career 20+ years ago in higher education, Buxbaum has the academic and practical skills to help you and your organization to envision what Identity Conscious® means for each project. She prioritizes making sure that the details fit into the big picture and the work is always looking for the win-win solutions.
Professor Buxbaum is an Editorial Board member for INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. She has been interviewed by news outlets from New York to Norway including NPR’s All Things Considered. Buxbaum was published in the Journal of Career Planning and Adult Development, and regularly speaks at conferences such as the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE), International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA), and at South by Southwest (SXSW).
As a former National Director for the Anti-Defamation League, Elissa worked with the FBI Civil Rights Division and other government entities, including providing expert testimony to congress.
Buxbaum received a Bachelors from Emory University in Psychology and Linguistics and two Master’s degrees; an M.Ed in Counseling and Career Development from Colorado State University and an M.S.Ed in Intercultural Communication from the University of Pennsylvania.
